A 3-month-old Texas infant at the center of an Amber Alert was found dead inside an overturned vehicle in a river on Tuesday, authorities said.
The baby girl’s father, Jeremy Brown, 30, has been accused of abducting his daughter, Lyrik Brown. An Amber Alert was activated for the girl on the night of June 8.
Officials obtained information Tuesday afternoon around 3:50 p.m. that Brown was located near the Red River at Interstate 35 in Gainesville. Police found Brown in the river next to an overturned vehicle that was submerged, Gainesville Police Department said in a statement.

Responding officers removed the alleged suspect from the river and emergency medical personnel were called to the scene to assess him for injuries.
The overturned vehicle was also removed from the river by emergency personnel who located the infant inside the vehicle sitting in her car seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brown was arrested on warrants issued earlier that day.
Gainsville police responded to a disturbance call on Monday and found Lyrik’s mother driving a gray 2011 Volkswagen Jetta together with her boyfriend, Brown, who is also Lyrik’s father.
Lyrik’s mother told responding officers she and Brown got into a physical altercation. They both exited the vehicle and continued the fight. Brown got back into the vehicle shortly after and left with her car and Lyrik still inside.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
