Texas Man Wanted for Filing Divorce Based on False Papers–Without His Wife’s Knowledge
Paul Nixon, 51, wanted for fraudulently finalizing his divorce without his wife’s concent or knowledge (Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office)

A 51-year-old Harris County man is sought after by the police after he allegedly fraudulently filed divorce papers—without telling his wife.

On May 14, officers with the Harris County Police responded to a call by a woman from Spring, Texas, who said her husband had finalized their divorce without her knowledge or consent.

“She advised that her husband filed for divorce and completed the entire proceedings without her knowledge or consent and that the court had already completed all hearings and filed the final divorce decree,” Harris County Constable Mark Herman wrote on Facebook.

On Feb. 15, Paul Nixon, 51, reportedly filed for divorce from his wife, whose name has not been published, at a district court.

During the process, he further submitted a forged autograph of his wife and a forged notary public’s approval of a waiver of service. Then, in April, a judge legally dissolved the marriage by signing a divorce order.

“She was very surprised,” Herman told The New York Post. “She started finding things showing that he was spending money on jewelry, so she confronted him and he told her that they were actually divorced.”

“We rarely see something like this,” he added. “In this particular case, the gentleman decided to go through a divorce but the only problem is, he left his wife out of the process. And that’s a violation of the law here in Texas.”

After the fraud came to light, officers immediately filed a motion to vacate the order and the marriage was reinstated. “They are still legally married,” Herman said. “The fraudulent divorce papers have been retracted.”

Nixon, meanwhile, is nowhere to be found. He may face up to 10 years in prison for aggravated forgery, which is a felony charge, and has a no-bond warrant for his arrest.

“We’ve got teams of officers out looking for him right now,” Herman told the Post.

Nicolas Cage Files for Annulment Four Days After Marriage, Report Says

In another marriage debacle earlier this year, Nicolas Cage reportedly filed for an annulment just four days after he got married in Las Vegas.

According to Entertainment Tonight, he filed the annulment from his new wife, Erika Koike, on March 27.

Cage, 55, has also requested a divorce if an annulment isn’t possible, the report said, citing court documents.

Nicolas Cage was married for the fourth time last weekend – for four days anyway, before calling it off.

On March 23, the couple applied for a marriage license and got married in Las Vegas, it was reported.

TMZ, citing his court documents, reported that Cage said, “[Erika] suggested to [Nic] that they should marry, [Nic] reacted on impulse and without the ability to recognize or understand the full impact of his actions.”

Cage said the marriage was a fraud because she didn’t disclose “the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person,” adding that she also did not disclose her criminal history.

He said the annulment is justified because both had “such conflict in personalities and dispositions that are so deep as to render the two incompatible in marriage.”

Nicolas Cage just filed for an annulment… after 4 days of marriage.

His marriage to Koike is his fourth.

Cage was previously married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001. After that, he was married to Lisa Marie Presley, People magazine reported, adding that they got divorced three months after a secret Hawaii marriage.

Cage also married waitress Alice Kim in 2004.
