Former President Donald Trump easily won a straw poll among conservatives to be the Republican presidential candidate for 2024.
Among attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), about 60 percent (59 percent) said they would vote for Trump, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came in second with nearly 30 percent (28 percent). Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ranked third, with just 2 percent of support.
On Saturday, Trump hinted at a 2024 presidential run during his speech to the conference.
