At least one election integrity advocate is watching what happens with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office (DAO) Election Task Force (ETF).

The ETF was activated by District Attorney Larry Krasner to monitor the city's primary election.

As Election Day in November approaches, election watchdog groups, such as Fight Voter Fraud (FVF), will be watching the Philadelphia ETF operations.

FVF, founded by CEO Linda Szynkowicz in 2018, is a 501(c)(4) non-profit that focuses on election integrity and voter roll maintenance.

"There's definitely serious issues in Pennsylvania," Szynkowicz told NTD.  "I think that's a good thing that they're actually setting something up... it's more eyes on the election as it should be."

One case involved Matthew Laiss, who was convicted in March of election fraud offenses in connection with the 2020 presidential election.

Laiss was charged by indictment in September of last year with one count of voting more than once in a federal election and one count of voter fraud and was convicted on both charges, according to a Department of Justice press release.

The 32-year-old is scheduled to be sentenced next week on June 10, 2026. He faces a maximum five-year sentence of incarceration with three years of supervised release, and up to $250,000 in fines.

Three Democratic congressional candidates endorsed by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, won their primary elections on May 19, including Janelle Stelson, Bob Harvie, and Bob Brooks, who now will attempt to unseat Republican incumbents.

In the upcoming November general election, Stelson will face Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), Harvie will face Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), and Brooks will face Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Pa.).

The DAO urged voters who encountered irregularities at their polling location during the primary to call the DAO Election Task Force hotline at 215–686–9641 or the national nonpartisan hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE.

“I have not seen other states, that I'm aware of, setting up such a task force,” Szynkowicz said. “Every single state should.”

The ETF operates in collaboration with the Philadelphia Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Philadelphia City Commissioners, according to the DAO.

Szynkowicz said ideally the task force would include Republican and Democrat representatives.

"If you have only one party looking at issues, well then, that's not the way it should be if you want to actually accomplish something,” Szynkowicz added. "If they're transparent in what they're looking at and we see reports, then it is not an issue.”

Krasner did not respond to requests for comment.

In a statement posted online, DAO Election Task Force assistant district attorney Brian Collins said, “Our goal is to preserve the integrity of the election and maintain the public’s confidence in our democracy.”
