Whataburger is set to celebrate its 75th anniversary this August, serving up classic #1 burgers for just 75 cents and rolling out special events, commemorative merchandise, and new menu innovations.

National Whataburger Day falls on Aug. 8, and this year, customers across the brand’s 17-state footprint can snag the iconic Whataburger #1 for only $0.75 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time.

The offer, available exclusively to Whataburger Rewards members through the app or website, is limited to one burger per account and does not include extras or customizations, which come at an additional charge, according to the company.

Alongside the burger deal, Whataburger will debut the second series of its limited-edition 32-ounce Commemorative Cups, adding to its anniversary collectibles.

The new series kicks off Aug. 5 with a table-tent themed design, followed by a silver-striped anniversary cup debuting Aug. 12 and an A-frame tribute cup arriving Aug. 19. The cups are available for a limited time at participating restaurants and Whatastore.com, with additional collections planned for fall and winter.

Whataburger is also throwing an “Orange Out” party at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi on Aug. 8. Fans are encouraged to don orange apparel and rally behind the Corpus Christi Hooks, who will take the field as the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits for a special game against the Tulsa Drillers starting at 7:05 p.m.

The game features a ceremonial first pitch from special Whataburger guests and giveaways: the first 1,500 attendees will receive a Whataguy mask, while the first 5,000 will take home a signature Whataguy cape.

Every guest will also walk away with a coupon for a free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, and the evening will end with an orange-themed fireworks display.

“Whataburger’s story has always been one about people - the fans who’ve made us part of their everyday moments, the Family Members who serve every meal with care and pride, and the communities that have welcomed us like family for 75 years,” Whataburger President and CEO Debbie Stroud said in a statement.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we’re not just marking time - we’re honoring the memories, the traditions, and the quality experiences that keep folks coming back. This anniversary is our way of saying thank you. Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and for letting us be part of your table.”

The 75th anniversary year has brought a slew of new menu offerings and nostalgic favorites from the “WhataVault.” The company debuted in June the Prickly Pear Raspberry Whatafresher—a craft beverage blending lemon, raspberry, and prickly pear, offered at $3.69 for a 16 oz. drink or $3.99 for a 20 oz. size.
In addition, Whataburger joined with the Houston Rockets for a limited-edition capsule collection of apparel and hats, unveiled July 11. Fans at the Toyota Center launch event could purchase the exclusive gear, sample the new Whatafresher, and participate in activities celebrating the Texas originals.

The chain has more than 1,100 locations across the U.S. and a presence in grocery stores nationwide.
