Memorial Day, honoring U.S. service members who died in military service, is observed on the last Monday in May. Federal offices, courts, banks, post offices, and financial markets will be closed nationwide on Monday, May 25. Most major retailers, grocery stores, and gas stations are expected to remain open, though some may operate on reduced or holiday hours.
