YouTube superstar PewDiePie married his girlfriend of eight years, former beauty vlogger Marzia Bisognin, on Aug. 19, exactly 8 years after they met.
The Swedish YouTuber, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, and his Italian wife both posted about the event that took place on Kew Gardens in west London on their social media accounts.
"We are married!!! I'm the happiest I can be," Kjellberg wrote on Twitter, "I'm so lucky to share my life with this amazing woman."
Bisognin posted a picture and wrote on her Instagram:
"Yesterday, the 19th of August - after exactly 8 years since we met - we celebrated our wedding with our closest friends and family. It was the most beautiful day, which I will treasure forever. I am so thankful for all the people that made time to attend the event and helped us celebrate our marriage. I feel like I’m the luckiest person and I’m so full of love. Incredibly ecstatic to be able to call Felix my husband for the rest of our lives," wrote Bisognin.
Kjellberg proposed to Bisognin in April 2018 while on a vacation trip to Japan, "Literally, I'm about to pop the question," he said in a video.
"Another thing is that I'm getting married soon, Marzia," Pewdiepie said in a recent video, I Can't wait to be your husband, I'm very excited but it's also been a lot of work and then to also edit my own videos, it's been hard to keep up, so just know I'm trying my best."
PewDiePie has been in a competition with Bollywood record label T-Series for the most subscribed YouTube channel. T-series has 109 million subscribers and PewDiePie 99 million.
"There's been a lot of speculation that I'm gonna quit the channel because of all these pieces kind of falling together," he said. "I still really enjoy YouTube, and I have no plans of quitting, I do think it would be good for me to have a break at some point just to feel what it's like to have a break."
