Authorities in Ohio are investigating a shooting at a busy Cincinnati music venue over the weekend that left nine people wounded.
"At present, there are no fatalities," Pureval added.
No arrests have been made so far, and authorities have not released any information about a suspect or a possible motive. The crime scene is still being processed, and investigators are still interviewing the victims and witnesses, officials said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting CPD with the ongoing investigation and has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information related to the identification of those responsible for the shooting.
The ATF has asked anyone with information about the case to call 1-888-ATF-TIPS, email [email protected], or contact the agency online at www.atf.gov/contact/atf-tips. Tips can also be reported to CPD directly at 513-352-3542 or via Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
Speaking during the news briefing, Interim Police Chief Adam Hennie said there were about 600 people in the music venue when the shots rang out.
"I am so thankful that no one lost their lives during this horrific event," Hennie said. "This is a tragedy that is going to be investigated to our fullest abilities. And I'm very confident we're going to find those who are responsible and bring them to justice."
"Our hearts are with the victims and their families. We are profoundly grateful that, at this time, all of the victims are reportedly in a safe and stable condition," the venue shared.
"We want to take this moment to thank the staff, the first responders, and the community that supported us last night as they have the last eight years. The immediate reaction from CPD helped to prevent further casualties, To those brave men and women—THANK YOU. To the community that that we are proud to be a part of, Thank You."
