Americans Worried About Online Privacy

TikTok is a Chinese-owned company but it recently overtook Google as the most visited website in the world.

Several U.S. federal agencies have banned personnel from downloading it to their phones because of the China connection.

A recent survey found that 80 percent of Americans are worried about their online privacy, and would be willing to pay for social media in return for better protections.

At least one American company is trying to take advantage of that sentiment. MeWe is a Facebook alternative that doesn’t track you or sell your data to advertisers.

It makes its money by selling extra features to users.

NTD spoke with Mark Weinstein, CEO at MeWe, to learn more about it.
