Former “19 Kids and Counting” star Anna Duggar commemorated the 11th anniversary of her marriage to Josh Duggar on social media
Anna Duggar took to Instagram on Sept. 26. to share about their marriage, as well as a photo of their wedding day in 2008.
“11 years ago, before God, our family and friends we said, ‘I do!’ — and, my, how the past 11 years have flown by! ♥️” the 31-year-old wrote in the post.
“The joys we’ve experienced together have far surpassed the shadows of sorrow we’ve walked through. Through it all, God’s kindness and grace has sustained us. I am thankful for the seven children He has given us together (five here/one in heaven/one due in Nov)! ???? I love you so much, Joshua, and look forward to growing old together! (Gotta admit though … being young together is pretty fun too!)”
Many fans commented on the post. One person said, “You’ve been a picture of ‘for better or worse, ’til death do us part.’ In the world of throwing marriages away, God has guided you through. And that is strength and faith. Prayers for many more beautiful years!!!” Another added, “It’s amazing you have stood by loved him.”
The Duggars have had a bumpy 11-year-marriage, beginning in 2015 when Josh admitted to wrongdoing after being accused of sexually assaulting several of his younger sisters as a teenager.
He said at the time: “Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation,” he wrote on Facebook in May that year.
Months later, the marriage was rocked by another scandal when Josh admitted to cheating on his wife after a data breach on the adultery social networking site AshleyMadison.com revealed he had been active on the website.
In 2016, the Anna and Josh announced that they were attending marriage counseling together in an attempt to heal their marriage, according to a statement posted on the Duggar family’s website.
The Duggars said in 2016: “Since the residential treatment program ended, we have been working with a professional marriage and family counselor to take important steps toward healing,” read the statement. They thanked fans “for the prayers, love, and encouragement.”
