A body-worn camera may have saved the life of a Volusia County Sheriff’s deputy in a shooting in Florida.
Deputies were investigating a case in Deltona when an armed man emerged from a house with a firearm. Several shots were fired, including one that struck Deputy José Rivera’s body camera.
The suspect was arrested and is being held without bond on two counts of attempted murder. Though struck in the leg and shoulder, Deputy Rivera has since been discharged from the hospital.
