The Justice Department on April 21 indicted the non-profit Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) on charges of fraud and money laundering. Officials say SPLC donated large amounts of money to leaders of extremist groups, which the organization has pledged to fight.
Meanwhile, the SPLC has also been accused of targeting legitimate conservative viewpoints, and linking them to hate groups.
