David Wilcock, a paranormal content creator, author, and prominent figure in the disclosure movement, died April 20 in Boulder, Colorado. He was 53.

A press release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office indicated that Wilcock killed himself, but also stated that the official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Coroner’s Office.
The Boulder County Coroner’s Office confirmed Wednesday, April 22, that Wilcock was the individual involved in an incident reported on April 20 on Park Ridge Road in Boulder County.
On April 20, deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at about 10:44 a.m., reporting an “unknown problem” near the 1400 block of Ridge Road, northeast of Nederland, Colorado.

The emergency communications specialist who received the call suspected the caller was experiencing a mental health crisis, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Deputies arrived at approximately 11:02 a.m. and made contact with a male outside a residence who was holding a weapon. Within minutes of deputies’ arrival, he used the weapon on himself,” the sheriff’s office said in a release. “He was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

According to the release, “deputies searched the residence and surrounding property and did not locate any other individuals.”

Wilcock built a large following through his commentary on paranormal phenomena and extraterrestrial life. He was a leading figure in the disclosure movement, which claims governments possess secret information about UFOs and extraterrestrial or other non-human phenomena.

He had more than 500,000 subscribers on YouTube, where he hosted regular livestreams discussing his theories and current events. His final livestream was posted on April 19.

In that broadcast, he said, “Every day that I have on Earth is a gift and a blessing, and I’m very grateful for that,” and referenced reports of U.S. scientists going missing or dying in recent years.

In an April 18 social media post, Wilcock wrote, “I am not yet sure if I am doing a show tomorrow. I've had some very intense stuff going on this weekend. Either way, I want you all to know how much I love and appreciate you!”
“Always remember that the Creator is within—and that we live in a loving universe. I am very grateful to you for all of your love, care, and support,” he said. On April 19, he posted that he slept miraculously well and decided to go live with his YouTube show.

Wilcock authored several books, including “The Source Field Investigations” and “The Synchronicity Key,” both New York Times bestsellers. He also made multiple appearances on the television series “Ancient Aliens,” which explores theories about ancient civilizations and extraterrestrial influence.

He also worked as a producer and actor, with credits including “The Recall” (2017), “Wisdom Teachings” (2013), and “The Cosmic Secret” (2019), according to IMDb.

Comments on Wilcock’s final livestream reflected both grief and skepticism among his audience, with some followers disputing the official determination.

One user wrote, “David taught about the karmic consequences of suicide. He didn’t kill himself,” while another said he had “literally said on video multiple times that he is not suicidal.”

Others shared messages of mourning and appreciation for his work. “Rest in peace, David Wilcock, you inspired a whole generation,” one viewer wrote. Another added, “David, you were so loved by so many people from all over the world.”

Born March 8, 1973, in Rotterdam, New York, Wilcock was married to Elizabeth Wilcock from Oct. 14, 2017, until their divorce on Nov. 30, 2021.
