George Clooney is set to reprise his role as charismatic con man Danny Ocean in the highly anticipated sequel “Ocean’s Fourteen,” a follow-up to the 2001 heist comedy film “Ocean’s Eleven.”
In a recent interview with E! News, the Oscar-winning actor revealed that the latest installment in the “Ocean’s” franchise is expected to begin production next summer.
“Ocean’s Eleven” is a remake of the 1960 film of the same name, starring Frank Sinatra and other members of the Rat Pack, including Peter Lawford, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.
The 2001 reboot centered on the daring heist of several Las Vegas casinos owned by Terry Benedict, played by Andy Garcia, a ruthless businessman who was dating Ocean’s estranged wife, Tess, portrayed by Julia Roberts. The film also starred Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle, among other well-known actors.
Clooney told the entertainment news program that he was looking forward to getting back on the set with his former co-stars.
“Brad, Matt, and Don, and Julia … You know, they’re all still really dear friends,” he said. “And so the chance to work together will be fun.”
Clooney previously discussed the forthcoming sequel during a December 2023 interview with Uproxx, telling the publication that “a great script” had already been completed.

That film was followed by “Ocean’s Twelve,” released in 2004, and “Ocean’s Thirteen,” which hit theaters in 2007. The films raked in more than $362 million and $311 million respectively at the box office.
An all-female spinoff titled “Ocean’s Eight” debuted in 2008. Sandra Bullock portrayed Danny Ocean’s sister, Debbie Ocean, co-starring with Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, and Helena Bonham Carter.
A prequel to “Ocean’s Eleven” was teased in October 2023. Set in Europe in the 1960s, the film is expected to reunite “Barbie” stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling on the big screen, although a release date has not yet been announced.
