“Counting On” star Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth shared heartbreaking photos from the hospital after her recent miscarriage.
Joy-Anna and husband Austin Forsyth posted a photo of them holding their stillborn daughter in the hospital on Friday, July 5.
“We only had her for 20 weeks, Life is fragile and precious,” the couple captioned the Instagram post. “So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!”
“Thank you all for your love and support! We can feel the prayers!” they added.
The couple also shared a photo of the baby girl’s footprints, which are the length of a quarter.
“Such a precious little life! Annabell is so missed. We love you so much Joy and Austin!” sister-in-law Anna Duggar, who is currently expecting her sixth child, commented.
“You’re in my thoughts night and day. I love you so much and I’m so honored to call you my friend. You’re my hero!” Carlin Bates, from “Bringing Up Bates” wrote.
The couple revealed the tragic news on Wednesday.
“Today marks one week since we heard these words… ‘So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement,” Joy-Anna wrote in the Instagram post, alongside a black-and-white photo of her and her husband on a hospital bed.
“We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl,” she continued.
Joy-Anna Duggar also revealed they chose the name Annabell Elise since “Annabell means ‘God has favored me,’ and Elise means ‘God satisfies.'”
“What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus,” she added.
The baby girl was due in November.
Following the news, the Duggar family also issued a statement on Facebook.
“We were so sad to hear that Joy and Austin’s baby girl passed away mid-way through their pregnancy. The pain of losing a child is unimaginable. Yet, for the one whose hope is in God, there is a peace that surpasses our finite understanding. We pray that God will comfort Joy and Austin and carry them through this difficult time,” Joy-Anna’s parents wrote.
