Digital platform Gan Jing World has announced an extension of the submission period for its inaugural essay contest, “Good Deeds in Troubled Times.”
Similar to the recently concluded “Kindness Is Cool” contest, which had participants submit short films and videos showing random acts of kindness, “Good Deeds in Troubled Times” is aimed at inspiring people worldwide by celebrating and promoting acts of benevolence through the power of words, and by sharing stories and experiences of compassion and kindness.
By extending the submission period, the organizers hope to facilitate a better environment for participants to have more time to create more in-depth, quality content, and to ensure a more impactful turnout overall.
“We believe that this extension will enable more individuals to participate and contribute their unique perspectives on benevolence, enriching the contest with diverse and inspiring stories.”
The contest has garnered a significant following since its launch. In addition to the first prize of $1,000 for the winning submission, there is also a special award awaiting. The winner of the contest could have the unique opportunity to be adapted into a feature film by a renowned director.
Through this, participants will have an incredible chance to see their work appreciated by an even wider audience, also helping spread the message of compassion to leave a lasting impression on viewers.
Entry procedures for the contest are simple. First, participants must create a channel on Gan Jing World. They can then upload their entry, which should consist of a minimum of 500 words, and should carry the tag “#GoodDeedsInTroubledTimes” in the title and content.
Participants can submit as many articles as they like, with no limit on the number of submissions. The new deadline for submissions is set for May 31, 2024, by which all submissions must be received in order to be considered for the contest.
After a short evaluation period, the winner will be announced on July 17, 2024.
