Exploring a hidden world: Hang Son Doong, the world’s largest cave

“Watch out for dinosaurs,” a tour guide warns visitors before entering the cave. The prehistoric atmosphere in this ancient cave is enchanting – you feel like you might encounter dinosaurs at anytime. Hang Son Doong, the world’s largest cave, is thought to be around 3 million years old.

Located in central Vietnam, the cave is more than five kilometers (three miles) long, 200 meters (650 feet) high, and 150 meters (500 feet) wide. Hang Son Doong was formed through water eroding the limestone underneath the mountain.

Exploring this beautiful underground world itself is a feat. You are expected to abseil cliffs, climb or crawl in small passages, or swim through underground rivers. While it might take you months or even years to explore all of this captivating landmark, thanks to modern technology, you can watch the video and the drone as it explores this mysterious world in just a few minutes.
