Families traditionally stay home during the Christmas season as children await the arrival of Santa Claus, but the residents of Bogota can see Santa on an illuminated Christmas train that passes through the Colombian capital.
Four hundred metres-long (1,312 feet), and comprised of 14 cars, the lit-up locomotive makes use of travel infrastructure that has been out of use in Bogota for more than three decades.
It can carry 600 tourists at a time. Around a quarter are usually foreigners.
Santa Claus visits passengers as the train chugs along, handing out gifts to good girls and boys, and many passengers pose for photos with the train-traveling Santa.
The train follows a route in the South American capital that takes passengers to a Bogota tourist attraction, the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira.
