Thomas Speciale, former senior adviser to the DNI on counterintelligence and security, joined NTD to discuss Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s testimony on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

Gabbard said that Islamic terrorist groups have shifted to information warfare. Speciale said the fact that Islamic terrorist groups are using information warfare as their principal mode of warfare shows that their capacities to project power have been degraded. He also defined the information operation, known as ‘active measures,’ as essentially lying until the truth is revealed. Speciale also said he believes Iran’s cyberwarfare capabilities have been degraded, but that they could also be operating out of other countries. Speciale said President Donald Trump didn’t start the war against Iran, but that the United States and Israel are ending the 47-year war that Iran has waged against the modern world.
