More than 900 suspected human traffickers were arrested and 180 victims were rescued during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to the Trump administration on Wednesday.
Federal authorities said 30 children were among the rescued victims.
"Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, we are dismantling human trafficking networks," Bis added.
NTD reached out to DHS for comment but did not receive a response by publication time.
Ahead of the tournament, federal authorities warned that criminals typically take advantage of major international events to exploit visitors and make money.
According to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, 6.5 million fans attended the World Cup.
The World Cup was co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico and marked the first time in the tournament’s history the format expanded from 32 to 48 teams.
On Wednesday, FBI Director Kash Patel outlined the magnitude of the tournament, comparing it to holding 78 Super Bowls in just 38 days.
Patel credited President Donald Trump's leadership in establishing protocols and deploying over 5,000 personnel over a period of 16 months to secure the event. He also touted the success of security operations for the Milan Olympics and F1 races, which resulted in zero major security incidents.
FIFA World Cup Security operations also included the seizure of more than 700 unauthorized drones, over 19,000 vehicle inspections, and more than 50 CBP air missions supporting stadiums and host cities.
Additionally, DHS also led significant intellectual property enforcement, seizing more than one million counterfeit FIFA World Cup merchandise items valued at more than $118 million and making 48 related arrests.
