Shen Yun delivers ‘mind-blowing’ performance in Seattle

Shen Yun Performing Arts is touring in Seattle, Washington from April 7 to 9. All four scheduled performances at the Marion Oliver McCaw Hall sold out, prompting the classical Chinese dance and music company to add a fifth show.

The Ziegler family has been looking forward to seeing it since last year.

“It was well worth it, it was beautiful,” said Eric Ziegler, who was accompanied by his wife Mollie and daughter Zoe.

“We kept talking about which dance was our favorite and then the next dance would come and we would say, ‘That’s our favorite. No, that’s our favorite!’ We really loved the umbrella dance and the yellow flowers, the handkerchiefs, and the bowls, the Mongolian bowls,” said Mollie.

“So it turns out the whole thing was our favorite,” said Eric. “Mind-blowing.”

“Beautiful precision, wonderful story-telling. The costumes were beautiful and I kept wondering, how many costume changes, and the skill that those dancers had in getting out there multiple times with all their costumes perfectly in place,” Mollie added.

Zoe, a professional dancer, was delighted to receive the tickets as a gift from her father.

“I really liked the ‘Yellow Blossoms’ dance,” she said. “That was awesome.”

Mollie is a professional musician. She was impressed with Shen Yun’s live orchestra.

“I had to lean over to my husband several times and say, ‘This is a live orchestra,’ because I kept forgetting because it was so well done. No mistakes. And the sound was very good. They did a great job,” she said.

Shen Yun is currently performing in Seattle, Washington and Costa Mesa, California.
