Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre For The Performing Arts on March 29.  Larisa Makush, the founder of My Abundance Academy, praised the dancers for their precision and quality after seeing the performers execute advanced flips and techniques.

“Being a dancer, I look at so many different aspects,” said Makush. “I think the choreography is amazing, the costumes are beautiful, and the performers, they’re so precise and impeccable it makes it a pleasure to watch.”

“We know what it takes to go into a show, and there’s a lot of choreography, and they’re on stage a lot. They’re not on stage for two minutes, and then they get like ten-minute breaks, like they’re on stage quite a bit. And they always look fresh,” Ms. Makush added. “They’re so physical. Like they’re so well trained and you can tell like they’re not it’s not just one of the dancers that has a specialty. They’re all amazing, which is really unusual in a production like this.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and theatergoers expressed their appreciation for the dancers’ warmth and energy.

“The characters of the performance have—they’re very expressive on stage and they’re very precise with their movements. And it’s just a fabulous pleasure to watch them,” said Taras Makush, a contract administrator for an engineering consulting firm. “The energy that they were radiating out from them—for myself, I’m always looking for that energy. For those sequences where the movements extend out and the, the audience is able to capture that. The energy coming off the stage I felt that many times coming, coming through those dancers and radiating out, I could feel that vibration, and I could just feel the warmth radiating off the stage.”

“It’s very theatrical. It’s very artistic. You know, the costumes are magnificent. A lot of creation was put into it. A lot of hard work. And then, you know, there’s so much hidden meaning behind it,” said Daryl King, the owner of a real estate company. “Everybody has to take their two feet and stand for what they feel is right. And I guess that’s part of what this is all about, is having the courage outside and standing how you feel and your freedom. So, you know, I can honor that.”

Shen Yun will continue with performances in Toronto through April 6.
