A delighted audience offered high praise for Shen Yun Performing Arts, after seeing the performance at the Rosemont Theatre in Illinois on April 26. The arts group brought audience members a glimpse of ancient Chinese cultural heritage, through classical dance and music.

“It's just well worth the time and investment. Come see it,” said Don Cassier, a company director. “They're very talented people. The backdrop is amazing. I can see why it has a patent so no one can copy it. It's just nothing I've ever seen like that before.”

“I love the colors, it's awesome. We've never seen it before, and this was awesome. I like the way they go into the screen too, and come back. And it's really amazing how the timing is, and just beautiful,” said Tom Jozwiak, a dentist.

“I was impressed with the performers, the singers, the person who plays piano. They all together play those ancient Chinese instruments, it was just something very interesting and enjoyable,” said Alex Kipnis, a senior cloud engineer.

Shen Yun’s mission is to rekindle Chinese culture from before communism. Since 2006, the arts group has toured the world with a mission to revive five millennia of Chinese tradition and values that ancient people believed were inspired by the divine.

“It was one marvel after another. Their abilities, their storytelling and all that without saying a word was really remarkable,” said Jennifer Ryan, a university assistant professor and education chair. “I could tell that there was one story after another, trying to say that might never wins, right always wins, is the sense I saw in theme after theme.”

“I love the colors, I love the art and it was beautiful. The performance was impressive and it touched my heart in the way that we are here but we have another force directing us, and it's called God and love,” said Albana Gjeka-Sgouridis, a company founder and CEO.

“It was wonderful. The music, the dancing, the singing, everything. And the choreography, and all the costumes, amazing. It was a really good time, I enjoyed it,” said Sheila Schock, a senior scrum master.

Shen Yun will perform at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Illinois, on May 3 and 4.
