Shen Yun Performing Arts was in Montreal, Canada, on April 12, with performances featuring classical Chinese dance, intricate costumes, a lifelike backdrop, and a unique blend of Eastern and Western instruments.

Lynda Gosselin, a criminal investigator, said that the dances were breathtakingly graceful.

"I found myself marveling at how the steps were crafted, how the choreography flowed in perfect harmony with the music," Ms. Gosselin said.

"The orchestra was sublime. Everything synchronized—the music, the dance steps—it’s almost too much to take in, yet so captivating," she said. "We were utterly immersed in the moment. The beauty of it all is spectacular. I struggle to find words for what I’ve just experienced.”

Dominic Belley, a lawyer, said, “An orchestra of extraordinary caliber, truly. It blended seamlessly with the sets, the scenes, and the dancers’ movements. Having such a splendid live orchestra was nothing short of marvelous.”

Rollande Galarneau, a retired fashion saleswoman, said, ”It feels like fate led me to this performance. It’s simply marvelous, surpassing all expectations.

"[The backdrop] is beautifully done—so vivid, so lifelike. The ocean, the vistas of Tibet—it feels as though you’re there. It’s nothing short of wondrous. It’s hard to articulate, but it stirred something deep within me.”

Zaida Louni, a French teacher, said, “This moment has been a long-cherished dream of mine, and it truly fulfilled my expectations. I was captivated. The vibrant colors, the resplendent costumes, and the artistry of the choreography were simply magnificent.”

The theatregoers resonated with Shen Yun’s mission, which is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values.

They also praised the performer’s talents and artistry.

Josse Anne, a physiotherapist, said, “I deeply appreciated it. Having studied traditional Chinese medicine and Qigong, I came seeking the enchantment of 5,000 years of history, and this performance delivered that magic.”

Mr. Belley added that, “I appreciated that it’s not a singular narrative—it weaves together diverse regions and ethnicities, revealing a rich tapestry of culture. I extend my warmest congratulations and gratitude for their generosity. Their professionalism and rigorous training are evident. It is athletic artistry at its finest. Bravo!”

Ms. Gosselin added, “I felt emotions that carried me back through time—feelings of connection and, above all, hope. The messages woven into the performance were filled with hope, making it deeply moving. My sister and I kept saying how lucky we are to be here.

"To the musicians, dancers, and all the artists, I offer my profound gratitude. Come see it—it’s a performance everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. Yet, I learned it’s ever-changing, so I hope to relive this magic again with my sister.”

The Shen Yun wrapped up its Montreal shows on April 13 and continues its tour in Hamilton, Ontario, from April 15.
