On May 3, Shen Yun Performing Arts dazzled audiences in the heart of Europe’s financial center in the city of Frankfurt, Germany. Tickets for the performance were sold out months in advance. Audience members commented on the beauty of the performance.

“For me, it was how the men can dance, how flexible they are, and the jumps they can do, and how high they can jump, and then the girls that walk in sequence, and all of them just so harmonious, it’s really nice,” said Louis Bieldt, an engineer.

Birgit Ayosso, a physician, said, “Very good. It was beautiful. Simply wonderful colors, beautiful movements, wonderful dancing. It gave me a glimpse into a culture that had previously been very unfamiliar to me. It was very beautiful to see. Experiencing such an ancient tradition was very touching.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism. The company also exposes the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of faith, including forced organ harvesting, and is one of the reasons Shen Yun cannot perform in China.

Mr. Bieldt said, “It’s almost like a warning that I’ve got, the persecution that they are having in China, so it’s a bit of an eye opener. I’ve read a little bit about it, and it’s just that people live out their traditions, like the guys saying it will bring them home, so that was interesting.”

Ms. Ayosso said, “The connection between the Divine and the earthly. I found that very, very beautiful. I really liked it, and it touched me.”

Mr. Bieldt said, “I think it’s very interesting to see that this civilization has been around for 5,000 years. So it’s very interesting to see a culture that’s so rich. It’s got a very long history, very colorful, very interesting."

Based in New York, Shen Yun simultaneously travels the world with eight different companies, bringing an all-new performance each year, with brand-new dances, music, and backdrops.

Ms. Ayosso said, “But what was especially beautiful was seeing for the first time the digital elements and what was happening on stage. That also impressed me greatly.

Ignace Ayosso, an IT consultant, said, “This is truly high culture. Very beautiful. It truly resonated with us. We are simply happy to see how the people dance. The music and the choreography as well. The colors. Very beautiful. Very impressive.”

Mr. Ayosso added, “That’s something I would recommend. I would like to come again next year with our children.”

Mr. Bieldt said, “Definitely come and see it, it’s really good.”
