Through classical Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun Performing Arts brought the beauty of ancient China to life for audiences in Bari, Italy, on Feb. 9. Audience members appreciated the artistry and were deeply moved by the performance.

“It moved me in a way I didn't think possible. Being able to convey these emotions only with dance and music is something extraordinary, because I am used to experiencing emotion through words. In this case, I was deeply moved thanks to only the movements of these artists, the ability to convey emotions. It was wonderful,” said Giuseppe Bellanova, a business owner.

“The soprano was wonderful, an incredible voice. Despite the fact that she sang in a language different from ours, I could appreciate her full vocal range,” said Elena Maggiore, a doctor.

“It’s very good, the orchestra was perfect. Perfect with the music, it was perfect with the movements of the dancers, and the Chinese instrument was very beautiful,” said Sokol Gjergji, a tenor.

“From the first scenes right through to the end, people with their dancing and their wonderful acrobatics, and the stories as well of the historical parts of China were incredible,” said Colin Gordon, owner of a language school.

Shen Yun aims to revive the spirit of 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture, a heritage believed by ancient Chinese people to be a gift from the divine. Audiences praised the performance for bringing these values and virtues to life, with some saying it left them feeling hopeful.

“The message that you have given us is a message of hope, because there is still hope despite the fact that the world is going towards bad drifts. But this message that you bring us is a message of deep hope and aspiration for a better future,” said Bellanova.

“This message of beauty and peace. Peace, because there has also been a lot of talk about conflicts. Conflicts where peace always reigns at the end of the conflict,” said Gjergji.

“I think it's a noble mission, a mission that you must continue to pursue because the artists convey a beautiful message, a strong message that reaches the viewer. So I think you have to keep pursuing this mission, this beautiful mission,” said Antonio Mancini, a doctor.

Shen Yun will be performing in Northampton, United Kingdom, on Feb. 17 and 18.
