Shen Yun Performing Arts successfully closed the curtain in Shibuya, Japan, on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19. Audience members welcomed them with warm applause and said they were deeply impressed by the performance.

“I was impressed by the wonderful dancing, the sense of unity with the music, the precise movements of the dancers, and the wonderful physical abilities of the dancers,” said Miyabi Miura, a beauty pageant winner.

“The expression of so many artists dancing with such power made me feel that I was given the power to see how great Chinese traditional dance is,” said Sonoko Ishii, a Japanese dance professor.

“The dancing and acrobatic moves were intense and interesting on their own, but the fact that they were all in sync was amazing,” said Shodo Suzuki, an actor. “The live performance was powerful and pleasant to listen to, and the fact that they all fit together so well was a wonderful team effort.”

“[The dances] are dynamic, but when I look at the movements of the hands and feet, the artists are in perfect harmony with the music, and the overall effect is amazing,” said Hidemi Komatsu, a company executive.

“The three-dimensionality of the music before the curtain rose was amazing. And after the curtain spread, that’s where I was really drawn in,” said Atsushi Yokoo, a company executive.

Shen Yun has been touring around the world since 2006 with a mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture. It showcases China before communism through classical Chinese dance and music.

“The morals resonate with me very much, and at this age, I feel that way more and more,” said Masashi Yokouchi, an actor. “While I’m confident in my health, I’ve come to feel a stronger connection between God and human beings, with all their attributes, as I age.”

“I hope that you will continue to use your artistry for a long time to come, because it gives us happiness and inspiration,” said Ms. Miura.

“I have been looking forward to this event since last year. I was very moved and the performance was really wonderful,” said Ryozo Fukuhara, a company president.

Shen Yun will be performing in Bunkyo, Japan, on Jan. 27 and Jan. 28.
