Shen Yun Performing Arts delighted audiences at Lyon’s Amphitheatre 3000 on April 26. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism. Theatergoers Michel and Joseph Briguet expressed how the performance resonated with them.

“This show is truly magnificent. It evokes a burst of emotions. Honestly, it makes us feel fantastic. When I come to see this show, it’s to witness beautiful things. The colors explode around us, and we genuinely feel so good, the show resonates so much with our heart. I can only say one thing, it’s magnificent,” said Michel Briguet, a project designer.

“This is a show where we forget about our daily problems, where our minds are completely free. It’s a show that, in the end, evokes a lot of emotions, whether very positive or even a bit euphoric. It’s a show that is so vibrant, so beautiful, really. Honestly, I wouldn’t know what else to say, it’s just that stunning,” said Joseph Briguet, a Java developer. “I felt a connection, a connection to something transcendent, perhaps it could be called the Divine. This connection is really extraordinary. On the one hand, it manifests on the human level in the artistic mastery, the absolute beauty. And on the other hand, it manifests through a feeling that we are getting closer to the Divine.”

“This show aligns perfectly with my beliefs. It’s really a deep conviction, and it truly highlights what I believe, truly demonstrates the Divine,” Mr. Michel Briguet said.

Ancient Chinese people believed their culture to be inspired by the Divine. Shen Yun showcases that through classical Chinese dance, music, and costumes. The pair emphasized the positive energy of the show and thanked Shen Yun for showcasing a path towards restoring faith in the Divine.

“When we left the show, we felt good, revitalized, ready to return to our world full of imperfections. This show demonstrated to us the path we should strive for to be happy in our world,” Mr. Joseph Briguet said.

“[Shen Yun] can contribute immensely to the modern world. We need to reexamine ourselves and reflect on what the past has taught us. We always seem to lack one element, faith in the Divine. We really need to return to fundamental values. We are sorely missing this message, this life lesson,” Mr. Michel Briguet said.
