Saurel Ghislain, a former postal inspector, said, “We’ve wanted to see it for such a long time after hearing about it on TV, in the news, basically after hearing everything about Shen Yun. So we were really hoping to see it. Now, we’ve finally had the chance, and we’re honestly so happy we did because it is an absolutely magnificent performance, and I hope many others get the chance to see it, too.”
Olivier Reboah, the head of business development at his company, said, “I really like it. So many colors, so many artists, so much movement. An excellent performance.”
Dominique Foussier, a former IT engineer, said, “The artistic level is really, really high. When you see the movements, the flips, the flow of the moves, it’s fantastic!”
Mr. Reboah said, “From the very beginning of each story, when the different Gods appear on Earth, you can really feel that Divine presence and the sense of well-being that flows onto the Earth.”
Mr. Foussier said, “It’s a perspective on China and the Chinese people that’s different from what we usually get. What the media tells us is completely different.”
“There are things we can take into account; we can draw inspiration from topics like what we see in the performance. It’s about reflecting on our history and finding a way to regain quality of life,” said Jean-Pierre Barthel, a former electronics engineer.
Mr. Ghislain said, “Watching it, it connects you to life, not the everyday life, but the kind of life we’d all love to experience. So, I am telling you, it’s truly magnificent, and I’ll keep saying it. Shen Yun is truly beautiful.”
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006 and has expanded into eight companies. Theatergoers praised Shen Yun for spreading hope and well-being across the world.
Mr. Reboah said, “Throughout the entire performance, there’s a sense of inner well-being that resonates from the very first choreography, the opening scene, all the way to the song of the person who truly conveyed that inner kindness to us.”
“The segment on meditation is really interesting. That’s what I find important, something we should hold on to, especially since it’s often overlooked today. And it’s really well presented in the performance,” said Mr. Barthel.
“You can’t help but feel different. It’s inevitable. Because seeing those scenes I saw on stage, that performance, it really touches your heart. It makes you more humble, and it kind of lifts you up from the earth,” said Mr. Ghislain.
Mr. Reboah said, “For someone who has never seen Shen Yun, I would say you have to go, experience it, feel it, and immerse yourself in the 5,000 years of history.”
