Shen Yun Performing Arts received a warm welcome in Bari, Italy, on Feb. 8. The performance took audience members on a journey through ancient China with theatergoers saying they were in awe of its artistry.

“These physical abilities actually have something extraordinary, something divine. So surely this is already extraordinary, this lightness, this thing of being all together, does not seem to belong to the human race,” said Annamaria Tatarella, a lawyer.

“[I was] surprised because the dancers seem to fly, the costumes are wonderful, the music is something exceptional for the ears. A real experience, sensory for the eyes, it’s wonderful,” said Grazia De Gennaro, the head of administration of a company and a university professor.

“I made quite a journey to come to see this show. It is very beautiful and interesting. It is a fantastic show because of the spirit behind it, and for the content and the enthusiasm,” said Piercosimo Nuzzo, a naval lieutenant commander.

“It was very different from an Italian show, with different stage designs and ways of showcasing their discipline and Chinese culture. The lightness and coordination were what impressed me the most,” said Valeria Altieri, a biologist.

Shen Yun tours the world with 8 companies that perform simultaneously. The arts group is dedicated to reviving China’s 5,000 years of traditional culture and values—a mission theatergoers said they deeply resonated with.

“It's an important mission because our present has its roots and foundations in our past. We must protect the past in order to have an ever better present and future,” said Vinicio Antonicelli, a lawyer.

“Centuries go by, but in the end, human emotions remain the same both in the past and the present. And here they were expressed in their purest form, which makes them resonate deeply within all of us,” said Michele Grion, a fashion set designer. “They were absolutely magnificent with impeccable coordination. I encourage them to keep sharing this message, it touches the deepest part of the soul.”

“It was beautiful and very interesting because it showed me and illustrated the Chinese culture that was a little unknown to me. It’s very beautiful,” said Valeria Di Donato, a doctor.

Shen Yun will perform at The Plaza Theatre in El Paso, Texas, on Feb. 15 and 16.
