Natalia Truckle, a business owner, said, “You are just deep in into the whole experience of it, and you can’t take your eyes off. It’s the most enjoyable piece, a piece of art. It's the whole combination of how they move and the colors, and I think the technologies also are joined in into the reality. I mean, this is beautiful.”
“Absolutely amazing,” Amanda Thompson said. “I was really impressed with well, the digital cinematography, everything was incredible. And I think just the blast of color ... it was just shot at you. It’s brilliant, absolutely delightful to see.”
With the mission to revive China’s genuine traditional culture, Shen Yun portrays Chinese tales and legends from ancient times through to the modern day. But under communist rule, the performance cannot be seen in China today.
Yvonne Kiamtia-Appleby, a senior manager, said, “I just think it’s bringing China and the past culture to life again. And to understand what it would have been like years ago before the oppression. I think that’s quite important to see the brightness and the light of the Chinese people that came through with the dance.”
“I don’t know how long they’ve trained for, but it’s very, very good, really, and the costumes just the whole show, oh, it’s just really lovely. I definitely want to come back and see it again, because they say the story changes each year, so I’d love to come back,” Ms. Kiamtia-Appleby added.
Ms. Thompson said, “It’s brilliant in its performance, its colour, and everyone kept smiling the whole way through it. Even the orchestra was smiling when they were playing. No, it was thoroughly enjoyable, and I highly recommend going to see it.”
