This woman creates amazing 3D paper art

The Brooklyn artist, Kristen Sgalambro, is 26 and has been doing 3D paper art for 3 years. All while working a full-time job.

She typically starts her artwork after coming home and often works past midnight.

“So this is like a nice switch from,” Sgalambro said. “Like that’s my day job, and then I get home and I’m doing handmade stuff ‘cause there I’m on the computer all day long.”

She creates amazing 3D paper art of fruits and veggies, people, desserts, houses and decorations, and even Disney characters.

Making paper designs has been a dream of hers since childhood.

“I just always loved paper. When I was little, I would always make handmade cards for people, but I never think like you could kind of make a career out of that,” she said.

Sgalambro’s passion has already been paying off. She has over 9,000 followers on Instagram and sells her pieces at local art fairs and online.

“People think I’m crazy, like why’d you make a paper banana? Who cares? I like paper bananas,” she said. “Just be yourself. Trust yourself and if you have a skill, use it, it’ll be great.”

Follow your dreams. Let your creativity shine. And you will be able to create amazing things.
