Authorities in North Carolina said on Wednesday they are seeking to identify a suspect who may be related to two recent bank robberies in Asheville.

The masked suspect was captured during the bank robbery on a surveillance camera and seems to match the description of another robbery incident that happened last week, police said.

The Asheville Police Department responded to a call from the Telco Community Bank on Hendersonville Road on Dec. 11 at 5:50 p.m., according to a statement from the department.

Officers learned upon arrival the suspect allegedly demanded money from bank staff and threatened them with a weapon.

Several days later, authorities responded to another bank robbery on Tuesday at the HomeTrust Bank, located on Hendersonville Road as well, according to another police statement.

Authorities have since uploaded pictures of the man on social media, seeking public help in identifying the armed robbery suspect.

Police described him as a white male who is between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 250–275 pounds.

He was reportedly last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, khaki work pants, and a black baseball cap.

Both incidents remain under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, police said.

Anyone with information on these incidents or has seen or knows the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110.
