A Vietnam Air Force pilot tells his story of surviving Hotel Hanoi as a prisoner of war. His F-4 was shot down by SAM missiles, landing at Hanoi Hilton, where American soldiers were kept as POWs. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Barry Bridger is retelling a story of hope, remembering how he and others survived in the prison camp and the American souls he witnessed, tough against the struggle to survive.

At CPAC Texas, I spoke with Jim Petersen, author of “The Spirit to Soar,” as well as Barry Bridger. Bridger tells me about surviving Hotel Hanoi Hilton and a message of hope. We discuss why he joined the war in Vietnam, his six and half years as a prisoner, and what kept him going.
