William Rush, an actor who appeared in the British television drama "Waterloo Road", died at the age of 31 on Wednesday.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
According to Rush's family, he was an organ donor whose final act of generosity will provide hope and life to other families.
He was born to Debbie Rush and Andrew Barry Rush. His mother is a well-known actress who appeared on the ITV soap "Coronation Street” for a decade, on which her son appeared in 2014.
"His kindness and love will forever be part of his legacy," she wrote. "William will always be loved, always missed, and forever in our hearts."
The family requested privacy as they navigate their grief.
William's acting career included notable work in television drama. He played schoolboy Josh Stevenson in the BBC One drama "Waterloo Road," appearing in 168 episodes between 2009 and 2013. Before landing that role, he scored guest appearances on several television shows, including "Grange Hill," "Drop Dead Gorgeous," and "The Street" in the late 2000s.
Rush also auditioned for the 13th season of the British version of "X Factor" in 2016, advancing to the six-chair challenge.
Sally Dynevor, who also appeared on "Coronation Street," commented on Debbie Rush's Instagram post: "Oh Debbie, I'm so shocked to hear this news. Sending you so much love. What a beautiful boy he was."
Chelsee Healey, known for her work on "Waterloo Road," also responded to the announcement: "Oh Debbie, my heart breaks for you all. I'm so so sorry! Rest in peace, Will."
Actor Jamie Lomas commented: "My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time. I have so many brilliant memories with Will. Devastated. Rest in peace, mate."
Actor Karen David, who is the voice of Sevati Dumas in Black Ops 6, wrote: “Debbie, I am so shocked and deeply saddened to hear about your sweet boy. I wish I could find the right words to say.” She mentioned that she had spent time on set with William, writing: “The time I spent on set with your magical son was pure joy and a laugh. He will be deeply missed. Sending so much love, and healing light.”
