Rare earth imports increased last month from the world’s largest producer of rare earth magnets. In April, China had added several rare earth items to its export restriction list in response to U.S. tariffs. A trade deal was then reached in May, and issues around the shipment of the rare earth minerals and magnets were resolved in June.
