Chile: At Least 21 Dead After Bus Overturn

In Chile, at least 21 people died and 21 others were injured after the bus they were on overturned in the region of Antofagasta.

The accident happened with 50 people on board the bus on Dec. 1, according to local authorities.

The bus went off a road in a mountainous area and fell 131-feet into a ravine.

President Sebastian Pinera wrote on his Twitter account that he is deeply sorry for the loss of life and injuries caused by the accident.

He added he has contacted the regional government to deploy assistance for the victims and their relatives.

Authorities are working to identify the cause of the accident.
