Millions of crabs move like droplets of water

Christmas Island features one of the top 10 Wonders of the World, but there may be a reason not to buy a house there just yet.

Just imagine playing a round of golf with friends, and then a tsunami consisting of millions of crabs making their way across the course. Though this is not a hazardous tsunami, it must be strange to be stranded in the middle of an ocean of tiny red crabs.

Each autumn the crabs on Christmas Island begin a spectacular migration from the forest to the coast, so they may mate and females can release their eggs into the sea. The wet season provides moist and overcast conditions which suites the red crab’s need to undertake such a long and perilous journey to the coast.
