Math is a cornerstone of American education—but children across the United States are increasingly struggling with the subject. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, students have gotten worryingly low scores, sparking concern among parents and educators.

NTD spoke with Corey DeAngelis, a senior fellow at the American Federation for Children, to learn more about the specific causes of the decline, and some solutions to help get math skills back to where they were.
