Jordy Glassner, a licensed therapist and podcast host who openly shared her experience living with terminal brain cancer, died Tuesday at her home. She was 34.
The pair, who had known each other for nearly three decades, created the podcast to discuss "pivotal moments of grief" in their own lives. Glassner had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in August 2023. Rozmid had experienced late-term pregnancy loss. Together, they crafted a platform where they shared their journeys while inviting guests to discuss their own encounters with grief and loss.
Grief Street released new episodes every Monday across major platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube. The podcast continued with weekly releases until October.
"There will never be enough words to describe the pain of losing my person- or for the heartbreak of watching GBM take so much from her over the last 2.5 years," she wrote. "I was robbed of raising my children alongside hers. I have never known a big life moment without Jordy. She's been there since we were 5 years old, walking me to the nurse's office."
She added that she wishes she could ask her one last question. "All I want is to call her and ask how I'm supposed to survive this life without her. I miss my person deeply,” she wrote.
The announcement of her death prompted an outpouring of support from listeners and friends who credited Grief Street with helping them navigate their own experiences with loss. Comments flooded social media, with followers expressing admiration for the friendship between the pair and the impact the podcast had made on their lives.
One commenter, Sue Epstein, wrote: "I have never seen a friendship like yours. How lucky you were to have each other and experience such a special and deep bond.”
Another listener, Savannah Zito, shared: "I am holding you so close in my heart. The love and devotion you showed Jordy through every step of this journey is something I will never forget. Grief Street has helped so many people navigate the unimaginable, what you created together matters deeply.”
Those wishing to honor Ms. Glassner's memory are encouraged to share stories and remembrances in the comments of her Instagram account rather than send private messages.
