Kyle Loftis, founder of the popular motorsports media brand 1320Video, who built a massive online following through underground street-racing and drag racing content, has died, Nebraska authorities and his company said. He was 43.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and firefighters responded to Loftis’s home on the evening of May 5. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities said the death is not considered suspicious.
“I can confirm on the evening of May 5, 2026, Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office and Gretna Fire Department personnel responded to the home of Kyle Loftis,” the Captain for the Road Patrol Division said in a statement.
Officials did not release additional details about the cause of death. “Out of respect for privacy, we will not be releasing further details,” the sheriff’s office said.
"Kyle’s passion for motorsports inspired millions of people around the world and we will never forget what he has done to grow our beloved sport. Kyle was a beam of light at every gathering… his enthusiasm, kindness, and creativeness was contagious," the company stated. "Let us pray that Kyle is in a better place."
Loftis founded 1320Video in 2003 as a grassroots street-racing video project that later grew into one of the largest online motorsports media brands.
The company says its YouTube channel has more than 3.87 million subscribers and a combined social media audience exceeding 10 million followers.
According to the company website, Loftis began by photographing cars and posting content on internet message boards before expanding into video coverage of street racing, drag racing, and automotive events nationwide.
In recent years, 1320Video has become widely recognized in racing communities for its event coverage, driver interviews, and viral racing clips shared across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
“RIP Kyle. You meant more to the world than you know. You gave so many of us lost people a place of peace. See you later,” one fan wrote.
Another fan shared his wedding photo, wearing a hat with the 1320Video logo, and wrote, “The 1320video hat never came off...even on our wedding day, thanks for the inspiration, Kyle.”
“The moment he presented a check for over $75,000 is something we will never forget. Because of his generosity, so many individuals and families were given a pathway into stability and freedom,” the organization said.
