Magnitude 5.7 Earthquake Strikes Near Indonesian Island of Java, EMSC Says

An ‍earthquake of ‍5.7 magnitude struck ‌near ⁠the Indonesian island of Java ⁠on Tuesday ‍at a depth ‌of 85.7 miles, ‌the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center ⁠reported.

Earlier in the month, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 struck off the coast of Indonesia's Talaud Islands on Jan. 10, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The quake was at a depth of 47.85 miles, GFZ said.
