Artificial ingredients are coming under increased scrutiny by the Department of Health and Human Services, led by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Nestlé USA said on Wednesday that it would fully eliminate synthetic food colors from its U.S. food and beverage portfolio by mid-2026.
Currently, fewer than 10 percent of Nestlé's U.S. products contain artificial coloring, but the company says it’s moving toward full removal as part of a broader industry shift.
Kraft Heinz and General Mills have also recently committed to removing artificial colors from all products sold in the United States, signaling a growing response to consumer demand for cleaner labels and more natural ingredients.
