Thousands of patio swings sold at Costco stores nationwide and online are being recalled over concerns they may pose a backward fall hazard, potentially causing serious injury or even death.

Outdoor furniture company Agio voluntarily recalled more than 18,000 of its Menlo Woven Patio Swings after receiving eight reports of the swing seat detaching from the frame while being used, resulting in various head and arm injuries, according to a May 14 notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The affected products carry the model number 1934256 and were distributed by Hong Kong-based World Bright International Limited. The swings were sold at Costco warehouse clubs across the country and online at Costco.com from February 2026 through March 2026, retailing for between $549 and $649.

The patio swings feature a black metal frame, black metal swing arms, a fabric canopy, and a padded seat in brown outdoor wicker. The swing frame is about 75 inches high, 71 inches wide, and 48 inches deep, while the swing seat is about 58 inches wide and 19 inches deep.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission urged customers to stop using the recalled patio swings immediately and contact World Bright International Limited for a repair kit, which includes four replacement hooks and instructions for installing them.

In a separate recall notice, Agio said it had "developed and tested" the replacement hooks, adding that the repair kit will be provided free of charge to those who purchased the affected patio swings. The company said a purchase receipt is not required to register for the recall and that consumers will only be asked to provide their contact information and confirm details about their patio swing.

"Even if your patio swing shows no visible signs of damage, you should stop using it immediately," the notice reads. "The issue may not be apparent during visual inspection, and continued use could result in injury. Please register for the free repair kit and complete the repair before using the product again."

Agio said the model number for the affected products can be found on the patio swing's original assembly instructions. The Consumer Product Safety Commission advised anyone who is unsure about whether they have the recalled model to contact World Bright International Limited for assistance by dialing 888-383-1932 during regular business hours, emailing [email protected], or visiting the website at www.agioliving.com.
