Quincy, Massachusetts, also known as the “City of Presidents,” held its Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Saturday. Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, local politicians, veterans, and residents paid tribute to veterans and active service members at the city’s WWII Memorial.
Quincy is the birthplace of the second and sixth U.S. presidents, John Adams and his son, John Quincy Adams.
Sergeant Donald “Garrett” Greenwood, who served in the U.S. Army, was the keynote speaker. Sgt. Greenwood has received dozens of medals and awards and was recognized on several occasions for his exemplary leadership. He now works for the Quincy Police Department.
