Rep. Van Duyne Backs Jordan for House Speaker, Concerned About Spending Plan

Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-Texas) spoke to NTD congressional correspondent Melina Wisecup on Monday about a floor vote for House speaker, which is expected to be held on Tuesday. She said the priority right now is to make sure House Republicans come together and vote for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio)—the latest Republican nominee for speaker. “We need a speaker,” she said. Ms. Van Duyne is one of the skeptics of Mr. Jordan and is concerned about his spending plan, but said she would support him on the floor.
