Roseanne Barr is going on a national comedy tour. Barr and fellow comedian Andrew Dice Clay will soon start selling tickets for the “Mr. & Mrs. America Tour.”

Both Barr and Clay have been been subject to media attacks after making controversial comments. Barr was kicked off her top-rated TV reboot, “Roseanne,” for posting a comment on Twitter about a former White House official and Clay was banned for life by MTV for his humor that has been criticized as sexist and homophobic. He still performs stand-up comedy.

In May last year, Variety published a report announcing the cancellation of “Roseanne,” a decision made by ABC. The network made the decision after Roseanne was publicly shamed for a Twitter post aimed at former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett that some interpreted as racist.

Barr has since explained that the tweet was not meant to be a racial smear, but more of a comment on Jarrett’s political policy.

“She’s a comic because she’s wacky. I’ve known her since we were kids,” Clay told Fox News. “When people ask about what she said, I say, ‘She’s a comic!’ We gotta stop policing comedians. This is America!”

Barr made her comeback since getting fired from ABC at a Las Vegas comedy club where Clay was performing, on March 16.

“She Hadn’t Been On Stage Since She Got Fired From ABC , And last Night Made So Many People Laugh … And They Loved Her! We are The Comedians Of This Crumbling World , But We are Human and Sometimes Screw Up, or Things Taken The Wrong way !!! Our Job Tho, is To Keep you Laughing Amongst The KAOS Of a World going Through Pain !!! She was Nervous and Afraid last Night , But Once the Audience Laughed … She was Right Backvin The Groove and Crushed !!! So Proud Of Her … Love You Roseann[sic],” Clay posted to Instagram, along with a photo of him and Barr on the stage of Laugh Factory.

Barr also had a show in Pennsylvania on May 4, The Morning Call reported. After a rusty start, perhaps due to Roseanne only recently having come back to doing stand-up, she eventually found her rhythm and got a standing ovation by the end of the show.

Clay doesn’t think being banned from MTV was a bad thing for his career.

“My MTV moment was hands down the biggest moment that ever happened on the MTV awards. And I say that because the press that I got off of that moment didn’t just go on for a week or two. It went on for two years,” Clay told Outbreak Presents TV.

“It was more about what Dice did than what the actual singing artists did on the show. And that moment has just never been topped,” Clay added.

The “Mr. & Mrs. America Tour” is set to begin on September 19. The first show will take place in Long Island, New York, followed by a show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, before moving on to other places around the country, Fox reported.

“We’re both excited because we both don’t give a [expletive] what anybody thinks about anything,” Clay told Fox New. “She’s an original I’m an original and people should just stop reading Twitter. Calm down with your political conversations.”
