Shen Yun Performing Arts performed in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 12, taking audiences on a journey through traditional Chinese culture. Audience members were grateful to experience the show with family and friends.

“Great production. I think it was a great event for myself and my daughter who came down. We came down for her birthday,” said Ron MacLaren, a real estate firm owner.

Mr. MacLaren’s daughter, Vivienne MacLaren, said, “I really loved it. I’m glad I got this present from my father, and I’m really happy I got to see Shen Yun. I felt like I learned so much more Chinese culture than I could have otherwise. So I think it’s really cool.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism. Theatergoers were amazed by the beauty and artistry conveyed through the stories onstage.

“I really like the message about spirituality, I like the message about what China was like before communism,” said Anupam Singh, a gastroenterologist.

Doug Hall, a merchant marine captain, said: “It is really sort of breathtaking, and there is a strong sense of upper power, greater power than what we have here on Earth, and they show that, they really portray that in the show.”

Diane Malley, the former owner of New Dimensions, said, “That was a message of kindness to people, if only people would embrace that. I think that’s the message all over the world, basically, what all the religions want is for us to be kind to one another and love one another.”

Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, and presents a brand-new production each year, with new dances, music, and costumes.

Ms. Malley said, “The costumes are beautiful. Their choice of colors, the contrast, the way the veils go through the air, and how they put the veil out, and then they take it back in again and swirl, it’s magnificent.”

Mr. Hall said, “Amazing, just amazing, the athleticism was amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing more of it. And the fact that your show changes all the time. We’ll be back.”

Shen Yun will be performing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 15 through April 19.
