“We really enjoyed it. It was absolutely everything that we expected,” Norbert Donnelly, a company president, said. “The choreography and the music were just spectacular.”
Rod Miller, an academic specialist, said, “With those instruments, the music, the dance, everything representing art—and I do believe art is a wonderful gift from the Creator—to be able to witness that and visualize that in real time was awesome to me.”
Shen Yun's mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism, highlighting themes of spirituality and morality.
“Each of the acts had a moral story to it. They were really wonderful in terms of teaching moments from each of the various plays that were on. It was just nice,” said Mr. Donnelly. “It was interesting to see how the moral stories were told, where someone would beat up or harm people, and then somebody else would uplift them, and the rewards that were given for the people that uplifted them, while the other people were downtrodden. And so the whole program was just really wonderful.”
“What touched my heart was the fact of the persecution of those that had faith, and how the heavens above were watching over them and helping them through it,” Daniel Russell, a pastor, said.
Cherise Miller, a business owner, said, “So beautiful, so beautiful, and especially in this time of getting back to spiritual needs, that's the most important thing. Of course, the colors were beautiful, the dance was beautiful, the song was beautiful. It was just very exquisite.”
Mr. Miller added, “This is something that everyone needs to check out, maybe even multiple times.”
