MONTERREY, Mexico—Shen Yun Performing Arts on April 25 transported audiences on a journey through ancient China. Theatergoers were impressed by the skill of the dancers and the beauty of the New York-based production.

Antonio Preciado, a writer, said, “When the show starts and they begin to move, it grabs you. It’s something hypnotic that transports you right onto the stage as if you were right there.”

Mr. Preciado added, “The music, I think, transports us and stirs our emotions, from the highs, the lows, the very classical tones, and of course the instruments. You hear the percussion, the wind instruments, the strings; everything combined evokes so many different feelings.”

“It is a beauty, a beauty in every sense,” Jaime Benitez Garza, an investor, said. “The music, the movements, the dances, the costumes are so impressive, and I loved the story.”

“From the moment the music starts, you're hooked. It's a show that I truly recommend to anyone who has the chance to see it, because it fills your soul, your spirit, and leaves you with a lot to think about when the show is about to end. The young musicians and the orchestra conductor are sensational,” Chela Hinojosa Margain, a former owner of the independent radio station Estereo7, said.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional culture from “China before communism,” through story-based dance, accompanied by a live orchestra. Audience members expressed their appreciation for the artistry and messages displayed on stage.

Mr. Preciado said, “It’s a very enriching and immersive experience. I think everything they convey and the way they put on this entire performance, this presentation, reaches you in a very different way than what you see in other shows. I think here, the feeling they want to convey to you comes directly through the dance, through the movements, and the acrobatics. It’s very, very good.”

“For me, it was a truly enriching experience because it immersed us in the culture. We learned many things I didn’t know, and on top of that, it tells a story in each of the acts,” Oscar Pérez Corvera, a business owner, said.

Ms. Margain said, “What caught my attention the most is the way they take the [backdrop] they portray and bring it out into the real world, into the present we're living in. Honestly, the multimedia they're using is truly impressive. My respect and congratulations, because it enhances the show even more.”

Mr. Corvera said, “I’d tell [people] that if they really want to learn a little bit about this culture and this art and performance, this entertainment, they should come. They won’t regret it. It’s truly something they’ll take away with them and really enjoy.”

Shen Yun will be performing in Mexico City from April 30–May 3 and Guadalajara from May 6–10.
